The short version

Encore stores all your data — your songs, lyrics, and practice progress — on your device. We run no servers, require no account, and use no analytics or advertising trackers. We cannot see your data. Deleting the app deletes your data.

Microphone and speech recognition

When you practice speaking a line, Encore uses your device's built-in speech recognition (Apple's Speech framework or Android's speech services) to turn your voice into text and compare it with the lyrics you are learning. Encore never records, stores, or transmits your audio. Depending on your device settings, the operating system may process speech on-device or via the platform provider's speech service (see Apple's or Google's privacy policy for their processing). Speech practice is optional — you can always practice with the self-check mode instead.

Setlist lookups

When you search for an artist's likely setlist, the app sends the artist name you typed to MusicBrainz and setlist.fm to fetch public concert data. No personal data is included in these requests. Setlist data shown in the app comes from setlist.fm.

Data we do not collect

We do not collect, transmit, or sell personal data: no name, email, location, usage analytics, or advertising identifiers.

In-app purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple. To validate and restore purchases we use RevenueCat as a service provider, which receives a randomly generated anonymous identifier and purchase state — no identity data. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Notifications

Practice reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. No push servers are involved.

Your rights (GDPR)

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation you have rights to access, rectify, and erase personal data. Since your data never leaves your device, you exercise these directly: view it in the app, and delete it by deleting the app. For any question or request, contact us — we answer within 30 days.

Changes

If a future version of the app changes what data is processed (for example, optional cloud sync), we will update this policy and note it in the app's release notes before the change takes effect.
